What linking does
If you play Sunrise from both a Java account and a Bedrock account, /linkaccount connects them so you appear as the same player regardless of which client you're on. This is useful if you switch between PC, console, or mobile.
The command:
/linkaccount
Run it in-game and follow the prompts to confirm the link.
What carries over after linking
Linking changes your display name so both accounts share it. The behavior to expect:
- Your in-game identity becomes consistent across both clients.
- Future actions (chat, claims, balances earned) will be tied to the linked identity.
What does NOT automatically transfer
This is the important part. Existing data on each account does not automatically merge. That includes:
- Inventory
/balance(in-game money)- Claims you've made
- Homes and warps
- Vote history toward rank progression
If you have meaningful progress on one account and you want it moved to the linked account, contact a staff member. They can manually transfer inventory, balance, and claim data between linked accounts.
Don't run
/linkaccountcasually if you have significant progress you'd lose access to. Talk to staff first if you're unsure.
Common scenarios
"I started on Bedrock and now I want to play on Java with the same name."
Run /linkaccount from one account. If you have progress to keep, message staff before or right after — they'll help you migrate inventory, balance, and claims.
"My Bedrock username has a . prefix and I don't want that."
Linking your Bedrock account to Java keeps the Bedrock prefix in some chat contexts but resolves your identity to the Java name where it matters (claims, vote tracking). The prefix is a Geyser convention, not a server choice.
"I voted on Bedrock for months. Will those votes count toward my Java rank?"
Vote tracking follows your linked identity once it's linked. Pre-link votes that came in under a different identity may need staff to merge — ask in #help.
Reporting issues
If something doesn't work right after linking — missing items, wrong balance, claims you can't access — message a staff member in-game or in #help on Discord with your Java and Bedrock usernames.
