What resource worlds are
Resource worlds are temporary worlds designed for harvesting materials. They reset on a schedule, which means new ore, fresh forests, and unspoiled terrain show up regularly — but anything you build there will be wiped on the next reset.
There are four:
- Resource World (overworld terrain)
- Custom Resource World (custom-generated overworld terrain, also resets on schedule)
- Resource Nether
- Resource End
Each gets reset periodically — staff announce upcoming resets in #help and in-game.
The big rule
Never build anything in a resource world that you want to keep.
This includes:
- Bases
- Storage chests
- Farms
- Anything tagged with
/sethome
When the world resets, all of it is gone. There's no rollback.
If you find yourself wanting to build at a great spot in a resource world, the right move is to move to a persistent world (Server Worlds Tour) and build there instead.
Using /wild for quick trips
The fastest way into the resource overworld is:
/wild
This drops you at a random spot in the resource world. Mine what you need, take it back to your base, repeat. /back returns you to where you teleported from.
A typical gathering trip
A safe loop that works for most players:
- Empty inventory at your home base — bring only tools and food.
- Run
/wildto land somewhere fresh. - Mine, log, gather what you came for.
- When inventory's full, run
/backor/home <name>to return. - Drop materials, restock food, repeat.
This avoids losing materials if something goes wrong on the way back, and avoids the temptation to set up a "temporary" base that gets wiped.
When resets happen
Staff announce resource world resets in advance — usually a few days' notice in #help and in-game. Watch chat or Discord if you're actively using a resource world.
Reset cadence isn't on a strict timer; it's based on how much of the world has been explored and stripped. Heavy traffic = faster reset.
What about ore in persistent worlds?
You can mine in the persistent worlds (W1–W4) too — they have plenty of ore. The advantage of resource worlds is that they reset, so unmined caves and unexplored chunks are abundant. The persistent worlds get progressively stripped over time as players mine through them.
For most players: mining in resource worlds, building in persistent worlds is the right split.
