What claiming protects
A claim is a region you own. Inside it:
- Other players cannot break or place blocks
- Your chests, furnaces, and item frames are safe from anyone you don't trust
- You decide who can open doors, use buttons, or even enter the area
Claims never expire. The old "go offline for X weeks and lose your land" policy was retired in March 2024 — your claims are permanent for as long as the server runs. (Player warps may still expire after long inactivity, but that's separate.)
Claiming with a golden shovel
The fastest way to make your first claim:
- Run
/kit claimto receive a golden shovel. - Stand at one corner of the area you want to protect.
- Right-click the corner block with the golden shovel — you'll see a marker appear.
- Walk to the opposite corner and right-click again.
The claim is created and bordered. To inspect any existing claim (yours or someone else's), right-click any block in it with a stick.
You can also claim by command:
/claim 10
This claims a square around your current position with the given radius (in blocks).
Trust levels
Trust is what you give to friends, builders, or shop customers. The right level depends on what you want them to do:
| Command | What it grants |
|---|---|
/trust <player> | Build, break, and open containers |
/containertrust <player> | Open containers only (chests, furnaces) |
/accesstrust <player> | Use buttons, levers, doors |
/permissiontrust <player> | Manage trust — they can add and remove other players |
/untrust <player> | Remove all trust |
/trustlist | See who currently has trust on your claim |
Be careful with /permissiontrust — it lets the recipient add other players to your claim. Use it only for co-owners.
If someone steals from your chests, contact staff right away and turn on the no-enter flag (covered below) to prevent it from happening again. Stolen items can sometimes be recovered if reported quickly.
Claim flags
Flags toggle individual behaviors inside your claim. The fastest way to manage them is the in-game menu — run /claim and click the candles to toggle visually. For finer control, use commands:
/SetClaimFlag <flag> enable a flag
/UnsetClaimFlag <flag> disable a flag
/flags list flags currently set
The flags you can set:
- AllowPvP — let players hurt each other inside your claim
- NoEnter — no one but trusted players can step inside
- NoEnterPlayer — block specific players individually
- NoMonsterSpawns — disable hostile mob spawns
- NoFlight — disable creative-style flight (useful for combat arenas)
- NoFallDamage — turn off fall damage (handy for parkour or jump-and-land features)
- NoEnderPearl — block ender pearl entries
- NoVehicle — block boats, minecarts, and horses
- NoOpenDoors — keep visitors out of buildings without removing trust
- NoChorusFruit — block teleporting in via chorus fruit
- NoElytra — disable elytra flight
- NoItemDrop — prevent items from dropping (useful in builds)
- NoMcMMOSkills — disable mcMMO skill use
- EnterMessage — show a custom message when someone enters
- ExitMessage — show a custom message when someone leaves
- ReadLecterns — let visitors read lectern books
- ViewContainers — let visitors look inside chests without taking
If you want a quick "lock everything down" button, use /lockclaim — equivalent to enabling NoEnter.
Other useful claim commands
/abandonclaim— delete the claim you're standing in (use carefully)/claimslist— see all claims you own/transferclaim <player>— give the claim to another player. Stand inside the claim first./buyclaimblocks <amount>— buy more claim blocks at $50 each if you've run out
Special cases
Hostile mobs. Anyone can kill hostile mobs inside your claim — trust isn't required. Trust is only checked for building, breaking blocks, and interacting with tame mobs.
Villager trading. Visitors can trade with villagers in your claim by default — they don't need container trust.
Negative claim blocks. If your claim block count goes negative after buying expansions, that's a known bug. Contact a staff member and they can correct the count manually.
